The Civil Service Sports Council: Target Shooting Association exists for current, former and retired UK Civil Servants who are interested or involved in Target Sports.

As a National Association, we organise individual and team competitions and representative team matches with a number of high-profile teams.  We represent our members on national and regional levels within the Civil Service Sports Council (CSSC), and are affiliated to the NRA (National Rifle Association) and the NSRA (National Small-bore Rifle Association).

We are active in the following disciplines :-

  • Target Rifle (Full-Bore Rifle)
  • Small-Bore Rifle
  • Airgun Shooting

Message from the General Secretary, Roger North

roger_northThis association was established in 1926 as the Civil Service Rifle Association and supports Small-bore rifle, Full-bore rifle, Air rifle and Air pistol disciplines. Clay pigeon is a recent addition to our activities but we are still developing our involvement in this discipline.

The association does not have Club premises of its own, but comprises of many individual Civil Servants and employees of related departments throughout the UK that have an interest in shooting and wish to partake in our competitions, shooting on their own Club ranges.

We have an excellent programme of CSSC Representative Matches (the teams of which comprise of both men and women), CSSC Annual Championship meetings for both Small-bore and Full-bore rifle, our own summer and winter postal leagues for Small-bore rifle, Air rifle and Air pistol, and a Newsletter to keep members in touch with developments, results etc. Only CSSC members are eligible for the Representative Matches, but all Civil Servants may enter our competitions and may take prizes (other than CSSC awards).

We also accept Associate Members and would be pleased to welcome any friends or relations of Civil Servants who wish to join us. Membership of the Target Shooting Association for both Full members and Associates is £7.00 per annum.
